inborn longings and emotions

My great great grandfather was born in dublin and came to canada during the great famin, my great great grandmother came from Scotland. As a
child i used to hear my mother sing Irish songs
and never knew why as a child. I firmly believe
that the deep love i have for the ocean is inborn
I could stay by the ocean forever and I believe
that if I was born there I could never leave!!
Is it possible that humans have the same instinct
as homing pidgeons? back to our beginnings? ginny
