Sad to think that I should need tips on how to eat inexpensively in Ireland while on vacation. Since 1990 I have vacationed in Ireland at least twice a year for 7 - 20 days. This year, with the value of the dollar and the increased prices of Hotels, B&B's and guest houses along with the single supplement punishment fee I will have 1 vacation in Ireland and it will be limited to 7 days. This is sad for me. Unfortunately, only since I love visiting Ireland, there are many other wonderful countries to visit - countries where despite the sinking value of the dollar I can find more reasonable accomodations, food and transportation. Tourism is Irelands greatest advantage - I think the numbers will begin to go down as Irish "Inn" keepers continue to raise their prices and to charge per person rates (which they have not always done). I for one am sad about this change I don't think it's to anyone's benefit.
