About 50% of the employee labour force are organised in trade unions of which there are 50 in theRepublic of Ireland. The Irish Congress of Trade Unions is the national co-ordinating body for most of these. The Irish Business and Employers Confederation, represents the interests of employers at national level. The Labour Relations Commission, the Labour Court and the Rights Commissioner Service are the principal mediation bodies. Their role is to assist in the settlement of disputes. |
