Hi All
I have avoided my Irish research as i get lost with it all. but in the last few days i have had a breakthrough.
My great great grandfather John Hogan was born in Ireland abt 1841, he was a Cooper by trade.
I dont know his first wifes name, she must have died. but they had a son called Stephan, born abt 1864 in Dublin.
His second wife is Margaret and in the last few days i have found her surname it is Jones. she is born abt 1855 in Dublin.
They have my great grandfather John Hogan in 1884 ( i believe around September) in Dublin.
So now i have Margarets surname Jones, I tried some Irish records in Dublin.
well 3 children appear in Dublin.. Mary Anne born 20th April 1872, i think she must have died early for another child called Mary is coming.
Essie born 5th April 1874
Mary born 8th July 1876
Now i think Mary Anne must have died as why call the other child Mary?
I am sending for the birth certificate of Essie. will it give me any info on a parish? does anyone know how i can locate the parish.
I have relatives living in Dublin, they will house me, feed me, take me to and pick me up from the records office. but i need the parish. aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhh why are they Irish lol.
So if anyone can point me in the right direction i would be chuffed to bits
Many Thanks
Anthony
