I read your article with great interest and growing agreement. You have made some really solid points and have real insight. I have not been "home" since 1996, and from afar have attempted to keep up with the changes. I am quite dismayed in particular over the influx of non Irish as I feel it will initially dilute and quite possibly eventually destroy the culture. Coming from a melting pot, I always loved the uniculture I found on the island. I realize as you do that there were some really bad aspects hanging on from the past, and I am glad for the opportunity that Ireland has to shine in the world community. But what a delicate balance it is. I found the Cliffs Of Moher perfect without a visitor center, there is a wildness there that I would see preserved. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed and agreed with your thoughts.
